THIRD BIMONTHLY STUDY GUIDE
4TH GRADE

History Tuesday February 17th.

* Students will be asked to answer questions about the Mexican Independence.
* Students will retell in their own words what happened during the Mexican Independence by drawing and writing a cartoon with the most important moments of the war.

Note: You can study from your time line and from your quiz.

Science Wednesday February 18th


Forces
· Students will be asked to answer questions about forces, such as friction, gravity, motion, gravity and magnetism.
· Students will draw examples of how this forces work.

Energy
· Students will be asked to answer questions about the kinds of energy and how they work.
· Students will draw examples of how energy works.

Simple Machines
· Students will identify and name the simple machines.

· Note: You can study from your quiz, notebook, Science Book, and the review.

Reading Tuesday February 24th
Reading comprehension
Students will be asked to answer questions from a given story.
Critical thinking
Children will be asked to say which statements are fact and which ones are opinion.
Grammar
Students will give the comparatives of adjectives in sentences.
Spelling
Students will be dictated the spelling words from their notebooks. (Unit 3).

Math Wednesday February 25th

Addition properties
· Students will be asked to identify and use the three properties of addition: commutative, associative, and identity.
· Students will be asked to find the missing numbers by applying one of the addition properties.
Fact Families
· Students will complete the fact families of some given numbers.
Estimating differences
· Students will be asked to round numbers to the nearest ten or the nearest hundred.
· Students will use mental math to sum and subtract just by rounding quantities.
· After rounding the numbers, students will be asked to estimate the result and explain if they under or overestimated the result.
